Eagles Wings — Psalm 103 Poem
Introduction
Eagles Wings is a poem I wrote during a study of Psalms 103. The fifth and sixth verses were my primary inspiration. From the opening pages of scripture to The Revelation, you will find the imagery of God lifting or rescuing his people on eagle’s wings. It’s a beautiful image of God as a protector and redeemer. One of the most amazing places we see this imagery is in Exodus 19:4 – 7, which was my secondary inspiration.
Eagles Wings
Demons deep inside are like a roaring wave
Breaking over me they beat me like a slave
Water fills my lungs, I am bound and chained
Father part the waters that I may be saved
On eagles wings my Savior raises me
Delivers me beyond the raging see
The undertow shall not devour me
From my captures chains I’ve been set free
May my enemies drown by Your just hand
While I walk upon this dry land
I hold on to the promise made to Abraham
I place my faith in Jesus Christ the great I Am
Yahweh He is my sword
Yahweh He is my shield
Yahweh He is my strength
Yahweh He is my God
Conclusion
God is faithful to his people. But he does not promise to deliver us from trials. He does, however, promise to always be with us. There are times when God takes us through a storm, and times when God delivers us from a storm. God delivers us so that we may worship and glorify Him. There will be no doubt that God was the source of your deliverance.
